Congratulations to cast and crew of Coming to Pieces!!
Wilson's entry received an award of merit (Iam Walters and Jordan Ali for musical composition and performing), an award of excellence for ensemble work and Wilson was one of the 3 schools of 14 to go to the regional final in Cornwall during April 12 -17. WOW!!
Wednesday March 10, 2010, 7:00 pm, at J. Clarke Richardson Collegiate
The Wilson Drama Department has been busy preparing for this year's production, Coming to Pieces. This student-written piece was a collaboration between the cast and the Grade 11/12 Production class. The play explores issues of alienation and the marginalization of certain members of society. It forces us to question what we, as a community, can do, and what 'piece' we might be able to identify with in others, though our situations might be very different. This year, we will be performing the play at the Sears Festival, which is a competition between various Durham schools. The Festival runs the week of March 8th at J. Clarke Richardson Collegiate. Wilson performs third on March 10th; curtain is at 7:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the door. Please come out to support our students!

Congratulations to those staff and students for coordinating our Black History Month Assembly on Fri Feb 26th. The presentation from Cory Atkinson and Mrs.Taylor were well received! We have raised over $1800.00 to help support Haiti Build A School project.
During the month of February, we will be collecting donations for an organization called Frantzo's Dream: One Brick at a Time. 'Bricks' for the new school can be purchased at $5 for a small brick and $20 for a large brick, although any donation will be welcomed. Please read the following for more information about our initiative(link to one brick info sheet here) You can also download extra donation forms here .
